Overview
MKR CLASSIC & RALLY offers a professional build project of the legendary Group B icon – the Audi Sport Quattro S1 E2. We have already built two identical replicas, both currently located with private owners in the USA.
Buying the car at this stage allows the new owner to fully customize the specification, including suspension, brakes, engine accessories, ECU, and drivetrain components.
The listed price is for a fully finished, road-tested, and tuned vehicle based on the specification below. The final price may vary depending on your custom modifications.
Fitment & Quality
The project is built with high precision. The composite body panels feature perfect fitment and correct gaps. The paint job is flawless. The livery colors are fully painted, not wrapped/stickers. The final car will meet high assembly standards, discarding the imperfections of the original 1980s factory rally finish.
Base Technical Specification (Customizable):
Body & Safety:
• Chassis: Professionally shortened to Sport Quattro configuration (Base: Audi 90 Quattro / Audi Coupe). Built according to historical FIA regulations, fully reinforced, stitch-welded, and anti-corrosion treated.
• Bodykit: Full S1 E2 aerodynamic package made of Kevlar.
• Roll Cage: Extensive roll cage with certificate/homologation by IRECO MOTORSPORT.
Suspension & Steering:
• Geometry: Relocated front strut towers with adjustable camber/caster (Group B design).
• Dampers: KW Competition V3 suspension (Can be changed upon request).
• Knuckles: Custom-fabricated matching the Group B S1 E2 design.
• Control Arms: In-house fabrication according to homologation specs, made of Chrome-Moly (Cr-Mo) steel.
• Bushings: 100% Uniball spherical bearings used for all control arms, rods, and steering rack (no rubber/polyurethane bushings).
• Steering: Motorsport electric power steering pump with an additional fluid cooler.
Drivetrain & Subframes:
• Subframes: Custom-built subframes optimized for heavy-duty motorsport drivetrain mounting.
• Gearbox: Heavy-duty dog-engagement gearbox (Dogbox 01E) by Dragpower (Kiril Palazov), paired with an Audi S1 style shifter.
• Differential: Equipped with a locking differential from the Audi Urquattro.
• Clutch: Motorsport sintered clutch with a lightweight Audi S2 flywheel.
• Driveshaft: Reinforced, one-piece driveshaft.
Engine (Estimated Output: 500 HP / 550 Nm):
• Base: Legendary 5-cylinder 2.2L 20V Turbo (AAN) engine from the Audi S6 C4.
• Bottom End: Forged pistons and forged H-Beam connecting rods.
• Cylinder Head: Fully modified with enlarged and polished ports, larger valves.
• Timing: Complete kit with an Audi S2 water pump, sport camshafts, and adjustable cam gears.
• Auxiliaries: Motorsport oil catch tank, oversized oil cooler, additional water circulation pump.
Intake, Exhaust & Fuel System:
• Exhaust Manifold: Custom high-flow stainless steel manifold.
• Turbocharger: Garrett (exact model and housing size to be decided with the buyer).
• Exhaust System: 2.75-inch stainless steel exhaust system.
• Fuel System: FIA-approved safety fuel cell (45L), dual high-flow Bosch 044 fuel pumps, and an additional fuel cooler.
Braking System:
• Setup: Dual master cylinder pedalbox system (Group B style) with brake booster delete. Hydraulic handbrake and manual brake bias adjuster.
• Calipers: High-performance 4-piston Porsche calipers (Can be customized).
Electronics & Management:
• ECU: Ecumaster EMU Black standalone engine management system (Can be changed to MoTeC, MaxxECU, etc.).
• Features: Launch Control and Anti-Lag System (ALS) pre-configured.
• Wiring: Custom motorsport-grade chassis and engine wiring loom built from scratch.
Interior:
• Seats & Harnesses: Sabelt with valid FIA homologation.
• Gauges: A rare, period-correct set of 10 ORIGINAL VDO gauges from the era.
• Finish: Top-tier motorsport hardware and components throughout.
Legal Status & Registration
The car is currently registered in Poland with valid road insurance. It can be registered as a historical/classic vehicle across Europe.
