Cadillac Series 75 Fleetwood

The late-thirties Cadillacs are among the finest cars America has ever produced. The Series 60, 75 and 90 sat at the top of the range, with the Series 90 carrying the magnificent V16 — a 452 cu in sixteen-cylinder engine so smooth that Cadillac's own literature described its idle as inaudible. Bodies were built to order by Fleetwood, coachwork was finished by hand, and the specification list included things like a division window, jump seats and custom interior trim. Only a few hundred V16 cars were built in the model's later years, and survivors are museum pieces.Cadillac used precision manufacturing, electric starting and large multi-cylinder engines to establish itself as an early technical leader.
