Chevrolet Camaro Convertible

Chevrolet had nothing to sell against the Mustang for two and a half years, and when the Camaro finally arrived for 1967 it arrived properly armed. Built on the new F-body platform with a semi-unitised structure and a front subframe, it could be ordered as anything from a mild six-cylinder secretary's car to an SS 396 big-block brawler or a Z/28 built to homologate Chevrolet for Trans-Am racing. The 1969 restyle — creased fender lips, a deeper grille, gills behind the doors — is the one most people picture when they hear the name, and it is among the most collected American cars ever made. Rally Sport hidden headlights, cowl-induction hoods, houndstooth cloth and a Muncie four-speed on the floor are the details that separate a good one from a great one.

This car comes from the first year of Chevrolet's F-body line, built to answer the Mustang with a far broader engine range. Body style, option codes and restoration quality matter as much to that lineage as the headline power figure.
