The 400 series is Ferrari's most unfairly maligned model, largely because it was the first Ferrari ever offered with an automatic transmission — a three-speed General Motors Turbo-Hydramatic, no less. Everything else is thoroughly serious: a 4.8-litre quad-cam V12, a sharp-edged Pininfarina body with pop-up headlights and a Kamm tail, four proper seats, and an interior of Connolly leather. It was never officially sold in North America, so every one here arrived through private import — which makes them genuinely rare on this side of the Atlantic.
This car is Ferrari's front-engined V12 2+2, a genuinely usable four-seat Ferrari from an era when the marque built very few of them.
This example is finished in Blue over Red, showing 11118 mi on the odometer (a displayed reading, not a guarantee of total distance).
