Land Rover Range Rover 2.5 VM TD

Offered for sale is this 1991 Range Rover Classic 2.5 VM Turbo D 3-door, fitted with a manual gearbox and showing only 127,742 km.

An exceptionally difficult example to find today in such a remarkable state of preservation and originality, with clear provenance. I am its second owner and the vehicle forms part of my private collection of Range Rover Classics, where it has always been known as “Señorita”.

It has been carefully preserved with a collector’s approach, respecting its original specification, materials and character. It has always been kept in an enclosed garage and protected from the elements.

ORIGINALITY AND CONDITION

The vehicle retains its elegant original Cairngorm Brown colour, confirmed by the factory label in the engine bay, combined with its original beige interior.

It remains in classic specification, without modern conversions or aggressive modifications. It has not been lifted, widened or cut, and retains its original proportions and ride height.

The bodywork is very straight, with good panel alignment. The paintwork is factory original throughout with one exception: the area surrounding the RANGE ROVER lettering on the rear tailgate was locally repainted after being deliberately scratched with a key. The replacement lettering is genuine Land Rover.

The vehicle is not presented as artificially perfect. Minor signs of use and appropriate patina remain, which I consider an important part of its authenticity.

ORIGINAL INTERIOR

The cabin retains its original beige upholstery, carpets, dashboard, centre console, seats, controls, switches and trim.

The front and rear seats retain their original upholstery and the visible wear throughout the cabin is consistent with the 127,742 km displayed.

The luggage compartment remains complete with its original carpet, load shelf, side trim and fittings.

ENGINE AND MECHANICAL CONDITION

The VM Turbo Diesel engine starts readily, runs very smoothly and delivers its power progressively.

The manual gearbox operates smoothly and selects every ratio precisely without crunching.

The engine bay remains honest and unretouched, retaining its original factory stickers, labels and warning notices. It has not been cosmetically prepared to disguise its age.

All electrical equipment operates correctly, including electric windows, electric mirrors, instrumentation, warning lights and interior and exterior lighting.

The vehicle has never been used for recreational off-roading, mountain trails, water crossings or intensive mud driving.

CHASSIS AND UNDERSIDE

One of the most important qualities of this Range Rover is its underside.

The chassis and main rails are structurally sound and free from the serious corrosion commonly found on Range Rover Classics.

Importantly, the chassis has not recently been covered with paint or underseal to conceal repairs or corrosion. Detailed underside photographs are available.

PRE-DELIVERY SERVICE

Once a sale has been agreed, the vehicle will receive a specific pre-delivery service.

It will be delivered with two new batteries, a new set of tyres and freshly changed oils and filters. The work can be documented for the buyer.

Only two owners, 127,742 km, private collection provenance, enclosed-garage storage, original Cairngorm Brown specification, original beige interior, complete cabin, authentic engine bay, excellent mechanical operation and a structurally sound chassis.

This is a genuinely preserved Range Rover Classic rather than a recently restored or heavily modified example.

The sale is part of a reorganisation of my private Range Rover Classic collection and is not urgent.
