MGB Roadster

More MGBs were built than almost any other sports car in history, and there is a reason: it is small, honest, easy to work on, cheap to keep and genuinely fun on a back road. The 1.8-litre B-series four makes modest power but the car weighs almost nothing, the gearbox is sweet, and the chassis communicates everything. The later rubber-bumper cars sit higher to meet US regulations and are consequently the most affordable route in. Parts availability is essentially perfect — you can build an entire MGB from a catalogue.

This car is an MGB roadster from the final years of production, by which point over half a million had been built.
