Small-series coachbuilders were a genuine industry through the seventies and eighties, taking mass-produced American chassis and rebodying them in the neo-classical style — long hoods, opera windows, landau roofs, freestanding lamps and enormous quantities of chrome. Cars like this one were hand-finished in tiny numbers, often to individual order, and survive in far smaller quantities than the mainstream cars they were based on. They are genuine curiosities and the sort of thing that stops a conversation at a show.
