The Silver Cloud II of 1959–62 introduced Rolls-Royce's 6.2-litre aluminium V8, replacing the straight-six and transforming the car's effortlessness. It retains a separate chassis, which means it was still possible to send one to a coachbuilder — the last generation of Rolls-Royce for which that was routinely true. The J.P. Blatchley bodywork is one of the most quietly perfect shapes of the era, and the cabin is a museum of hand craftsmanship: picnic tables, veneer, wool headlining and instruments set into a polished wood fascia.
This car is a Radford Countryman conversion of the Silver Cloud II, a coachbuilt estate treatment carried out by Harold Radford of London.
