Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow

The Silver Shadow was the most radical car Rolls-Royce had built in decades: monocoque construction rather than a separate chassis, independent rear suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, and a Citroën-licensed high-pressure hydraulic system operating the brakes and the self-levelling suspension. The 6.75-litre V8 is deliberately unstressed and Rolls-Royce famously declined to publish its output. Inside, it is all Connolly hide, burr walnut veneer and Wilton wool. It was the best-selling Rolls-Royce ever built, which is why it remains the most accessible route into the marque.

This car is a Silver Shadow, the first monocoque Rolls-Royce, offered here as an unfinished project.
